THE HIGH CORPORATION (CZ) + MONOPHOBE (A)
Price: AK 3€/5€
There’s no wonder where these kids are getting their robotic kicks and electrical feel from. Slavic genes have a lot to spit out. The young future Czechoslovakian (with a hint of ‘MURICA) soul quartet, The High Corporation, have been rambling about since 2013. After playing concerts throughout the Czech Republic and Slovakia, being based in Prague, they are being recognized by locals and abroads that love not only the vast history of central Europe, the heart of Europe that is. Maybe the only band amongst the Czechs and Slovaks to proudly proclaim they have supported artists’ at large venue shows such as Selah Sue, Nneka, or Akua Naru.

This band thrives confronting reality, but also the challenging absurdities of life. Lyrics play a significant role in their music, just as kick’n’bass textures or crissxcross rhythm patterns do. For example their song “Roots”, which will be second off their new EP “When I Went To School”, Ešli/Ashley explains - “This song is from a period of my life when I was trying to put all the pieces of the puzzle together. I sincerely wanted to get back to my roots. It was important for me to understand the background, and it is important, but after a while I understood that it’s also absurd. You can’t go back. It’s evolution. It’s the time arrow that for some reason decides to go in one direction. Roots confront reality, illusions, delusions. It’s a little bit bipolar.”

Fall of 2016 they went their first tour (in CZ/SK) wrapping it up with an EP release party at Prague’s island-venue Vila Štvanice. Plans can’t stop there.
These capped bobbleheads are upstreaming the mainstream, coming to a town near you. This spring. In Europe. With much love.
